The main goal of this package is to identify and address training and capacitation gaps that may prevent the growth and scalability of the ecosystem of products and services being developed. Through consultations with consortium partners, several training gaps were identified in areas such as Digital Logistics, Data Science, 5G Networks, IoT (Internet of Things), innovation management, and energy networks and it became clear that the current training and qualification offering in the market to not sufficiently cover of these areas.
To address this, the NEXUS Agenda outlines a twofold Advanced Capacitation and Training Programme.
First, it includes specific advanced training needs from each partner that can be fulfilled by existing market offerings.
Second, it purposes the establishment of a Specialized Digital and Green Transition Training Academy for Ports and Multimodal Networks to cover the relevant needs in these critical sectors, ensuring the development, maintenance, and scaling of the NEXUS portfolio with highly skilled resources.
The advanced training program have the following characteristics:
- A training model consisting of micromodules, challenges, and training units based on master’s and doctoral programs, including several existing curricular units.
The duration and format change, with programs ranging from one day to one semester, offered in a hybrid model that can be adjusted to different contexts and themes. Micromodules and challenges differ from 1 to 6 ECTS, while training units are assigned ECTS based on the number of curricular units involved.
This training academia has been designed by three institutions: two higher education organizations, the University of Aveiro and the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, and one technical school, the Litoral Alentejano Technical School.
