Port Cyber Arena kicks off its activities

The Port Cyber Arena began its activities with the launch of the first cybersecurity training sessions, held this past July.
The inaugural sessions brought together professionals from other national ports and members of the Sines port community, strengthening the project’s objective of enhancing the skills of the national port and logistics sector within a framework of partnership and knowledge-sharing.

The first training course, entitled “Incident Response Training,” took place from June 30 to July 2 and focused on the detection, analysis, and mitigation of malware in a controlled environment. Throughout the program, participants worked with advanced tools and simulated real-world cyberattack scenarios, developing practical skills in incident response.

On July 17 and 18, the second training course, “Cyber-Awareness Essentials + Threats and Defense,” was held. It covered the fundamentals of cybersecurity, the main types of threats, and the essential best practices for safeguarding information and digital systems. The training also included the analysis and defense against cyberattacks, as well as the use of specialized tools for investigating such incidents.

With this initial round of training, the Port Cyber Arena establishes itself as a national center of excellence for advanced cybersecurity training in the port and logistics sector, playing an active role in strengthening digital and cyber resilience and security.
