All the services developed are integrated into the NEXUS ecosystem vision, ensuring compatibility with other applications of the global project. The primary objective focus is to build upon existing capacities to create innovate express lane services at key intersections within the logistics network, for both road and rail processes. These services are designed for the end users, such as APS, IP, MEDWAY, PSA and REPSOL, in mind, ensuring that the solutions meet the needs and expectations of these key stakeholders.

These products are being developed at a high level of technological maturity, which means that higher the level of maturity, the more likely the product is to enter the market. Nevertheless, significant innovation challenges remain in areas such as:
Creating more agile business processes for gates and terminals, implementing blockchain and interconnected technology or creating new virtual gate concepts.
Additionally, defining a “Hybrid Gate” model with IoT architecture (optical character recognition cameras, barriers, sensors etc) to support site and cloud services, using AI to optimize truck scheduling, gate-in time and terminal storage, developing machine learning algorithms to improve rail operations and reduce energy consumption, creating a dynamic transport management system with real time planning and control algorithms, developing innovative UI/UX models (user interface/user experience) to increase logistics terminal operations and using AI-powered image recognition to improve terminal operations.
